software engineer
I build and maintain Python web applications and the APIs behind them, mostly with Tornado and PostgreSQL. I also write JavaScript for custom frontends and UI extensions, and Python scripting for integrations and automation.
My favorite problems are the mystery slowdowns. I use metrics, profiling and query analysis to find out why an app is slow or unstable, then fix it. I also work on Docker and Kubernetes deployments across on-premises servers, AWS and Azure.
I help other developers build on a platform through pairing, code review, training sessions, documentation and example code. When a problem gets hard, I dig in and then share what I learned so the next team doesn't get stuck.
Software Engineer based out of Texas
I am used to working in diverse teams of 10-30 people, and I know how to collaborate on business-critical projects. Working in large teams can be challenging, with everyone bringing their own experiences and perspective as we tackle tough problems. Today I am a software engineer at L7 Informatics, where I spend my time on Python web app performance, infrastructure and coaching the developers who build on our platform. Every member of the team is critical to the success of the project and my approach has always been to learn from others, provide mentorship in turn, and ensure success.
Where I work now
Python and JavaScript engineer on L7|ESP, a platform for clinical diagnostics, genomics and medicine manufacturing labs. I focus on performance and scalability in Python and PostgreSQL, deployments on Docker and Kubernetes, and coaching customer developers.
